Job Title Senior Associate or Special Counsel, Commercial Insurance (CTP)
Expertise Legal
Job Location Sydney
Description

Sparke Helmore Lawyers is a truly integrated national firm that looks to the future. Established in 1882, we have just under 900 people flexibly working from nine offices across Australia. We offer the security and history of a long-established firm with the excitement of continued growth. We operate in a way that puts our clients and our people at the heart of everything we do - we're proud to be described as being down to earth, practical and easy to deal with.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Commercial Insurance (CTP) team in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra or Newcastle working with Partner, Larissa Mepstead.

Applicants seeking flexible working hours or a part-time position are encouraged to apply. Talk to us about your needs and we will do our best to accommodate those.

You will be working as part of a busy collegiate team supporting licenced NSW CTP Insurers, interstate insurers and claims management practitioners.

The ideal candidate will have six plus years' PQE in personal injury and will demonstrate the ability to organise and prioritise their own time. Applicants who have experience in leading less experienced team members will be highly regarded. You will work closely with the Partner as well as running your own matters independently.

You will have a strong understanding of the litigation process and proven experience with file management. We are looking for a diligent, down to earth professional with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously within a close-knit team. Previous defendant CTP experience is preferred; however, we will consider those with plaintiff and in-house experience.

Our firm values and celebrates diversity. We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce to better represent the communities in which we live and work. Our culture provides the foundations of a welcoming and inclusive environment, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to join us - and bring their whole selves to work. We're proud to be recognised two years running as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by WGEA.

We recognise people value things differently. That's why our comprehensive benefits program is wide ranging so that everyone can find something that appeals to them. We're sure you will find something to love about what Sparke Helmore has to offer.
