An opportunity has arisen for an experienced PLC Engineer to join the Rheem Operations team based at Rydalmere. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for achieving objectives set out in the annual strategic plan. The emphasis is on safety, quality, production & equipment efficiency and continual improvement. The introduction of new products is also a key part of the role. Following on from a major capital investment in new plant, we seek a PLC Engineer highly skilled in the use, application and fault finding of Siemens PLCs to join an established engineering team working across this plant.
Initially the role will focus on a large section of this manufacturing facility, seeking out opportunities to apply continuous improvement through process engineering and minor projects. But foremost will be the focus on the Siemens PLCs to ensure maximum benefit – maximum efficiency - is gained from the significant capital that has recently been invested in this plant.
The position reports to the Engineering Manager and is open to qualified engineers (mechanical/electrical/mechatronic) who in addition to possessing working experience and high level knowledge and competency with Siemens PLCs, meet the following requirements or have equivalent experience:
Experience in a complex manufacturing and assembly plant
Knowledgeable and experienced with the principles of Lean Manufacturing
High level problem solving and analytical skills
Proven skills in scoping, designing, costing, contracting and delivering small to medium capital projects
Demonstrated experience and ability to communicate with all stakeholders in a complex manufacturing plant
