Kings Canyon Resort have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual for the role of Executive Housekeeper to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and join our Housekeeping team at the resort located approximately 306km (about 3-hour drive) from Uluru / Ayers Rock and 461 km (about 4.5-hour drive) from Alice Springs. Escape the daily grind and experience living in paradise. Kings Canyon is one of the Red Centre's little known jewels. Hidden deep in Watarrka National Park, Kings Canyon is a breath taking sandstone chasm that spectacularly plunges over 150 metres into the earth. Home to Kings Canyon Rim Walk, the area receives more than 250,000 international and domestic visitors per year.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible to oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping department.

Your role will involve:

  • Ensure all guest accommodation is serviced daily in line with operational checklists, company standards and product specifications
  • Promote the company safety and environment policy in particular the role of Housekeeping
  • Complete hands on training of all Housekeeping personnel through the use of Training Programs, Operational Checklists, Procedures, Product Specifications and other components of the PIMS
  • Training of all staff to use equipment and cleaning chemicals safely, providing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring material safety data sheets (MSDS) are accessible
  • Effective communication within the department, front office and guests by providing updates on changes to resort products, improvement to guest satisfaction and team performance
  • Report maintenance requirements for guest accommodation and public areas to the Maintenance Manager, monitoring to ensure prompt action has been taken
  • Oversee the correct storage and control of all cleaning in line with the environmental procedures and the approved chemical register
  • Administrative tasks such as issue and record staff uniforms, action timesheets, recording and accurately storing lost property and keeping all storage areas secure and locked

What you will bring to the role:

  • Extensive experience and understanding at an executive supervisory level in housekeeping operation in the hotel/resort industry
  • Proven experience and understanding in the use of housekeeping equipment and chemicals
  • Highly motivated with strong leadership skills and ability to motivate others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with guest service focus
  • Excellent attention to detail together with organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work and make decisions under pressure
  • Understanding of Opera and/or other front office reservation system

This is a "live-on" remote location role.  Working in a remote location is not for everyone, so you must think carefully about the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time.
