Ashurst is looking for Trainee Solicitors with common sense, discipline, professionalism, good judgement, dextrous thinking, creative ideas, intelligence, an international, commercial perspective - and the confidence to express themselves on paper, within teams and to a boardroom of peers.

They will need to be on track for a strong second class, division one (2:1) or equivalent in their degree. But it's not just academic results that matter. We want people who have a range of experiences and interests outside of their studies; outgoing people with a sense of humour.

We are looking for people with the communication skills required to advise clients and colleagues on technical, legal and commercial issues in plain and understandable terms. And because of the international nature of much of the work we do, preference will be given to candidates with strong Mandarin, Cantonese and English language skills. Other foreign languages are, of course, also desirable.

We hope to recruit most of our Trainee Solicitors from our Internship Programme. Applicants for the Internship Programme will therefore automatically be considered for a Training Contract opportunity with us. If you are unable to undertake an Internship then you should feel free to apply directly for a Training Contract, by selecting this option in the application form. Please provide a brief explanation for this choice in your cover letter. Interviews will be held in July on a rolling basis.
