month term non-ongoing role
An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Business
Development Manager to join the Client Services team, and to be
instrumental in driving continuous improvement and implementation of
Australian Government Solicitor's client and business development
strategy. As an experienced and results-driven Business Development
professional you will be a leader, using your highly developed
influencing skills to enhance AGS's internal and external relationship
management, contributing ideas and developing engagement initiatives,
driving value-add initiatives and providing strategic executive support.

About the role
The primary purpose of the Senior Business Development Manager role
is to drive client and business development across designated clients
and practice areas. This encompasses thought leadership, market
knowledge, and practice and client development.
The environment is fast-paced and outcomes-driven, and you will work
with the Client Services team and Client Service Managers (lawyers) to:
partner with senior stakeholders to influence and lead practice
development and client engagement initiatives
lead client-teams and develop client relationships
identify and capitalise on new opportunities, assist to position
AGS as the go-to strategic adviser to those clients
provide high-value strategic executive support
respond to urgent requests, meeting short deadlines
leverage data and market trends to drive strategic decision making
and business development insight within AGS
drive market development initiatives and bid responses
manage or contribute to corporate projects and
whole-of-organisation initiatives
lead client contract negotiations.

of service to the business and to clients.

About you
This role requires an experienced and highly motivated candidate with
professional qualifications and experience in professional services
business development marketing.
You will bring a high level of accountability and strategic skills to
the team, with experience in building understanding of client
priorities and managing sensitive client relationship and business
development needs. This is a leadership role with responsibility for
coaching lawyers and other team members. You will identify and
implement opportunities for improvement in the business development
function, while building trusted relationships with internal and
external clients.

experience in a professional services firm (ideally a law firm)
meeting and exceeding expectations from internal and external clients

coupled with a flexible attitude and ability to pivot your focus to
the variable needs of AGS and our clients
the ability to present at the highest level both within AGS and to clients.
