The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Trust and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Accounts Payable and Trust Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the trust accounting function of the firm with core duties including:

  • Maintenance of trust accounts
  • Compliance with Law Society trust account requirements
  • Processing all trust account transactions, including receipts, payments, journals, bill posting and disbursements
  • Preparing electronic payments and trust cheques
  • Reconciliation of trust accounts on a daily basis
  • Reconciliation and preparation of month end reports; and
  • General back-up and assistance for the accounts payable function.

We anticipate this role would suit an accounts professional with payables, receivables and reconciliations experience.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in finance related discipline preferred but not essential
  • Previous accounts experience, ideally in a legal or professional services environment
  • A customer centric and service orientated mind set
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; and
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
