Our Clinical Services Unit (CSU) is currently seeking a dynamic and creative team member to join their team. The CSU operates across Samaritans and provides a range of direct and indirect services primarily to individuals and groups accessing the Out Of Home Care, disability and mental health service sectors.

The role fundamentally involves working closely with the people who we support, their families and staff to build personal capacity and enhance quality of life as well as identifying opportunities for growth and development. In addition, and subject to demand, the role may also encompass systems development activities, project work, policy review and elements of training and support.

In order to be successful in the role, applicants are required to meet the following essential criteria:

  • A degree in Social Welfare, Social Work, Psychology or Behavioural Science and/ or a minimum 5 years’ experience in behaviour assessment and the development of behaviour Support Plans
  • Demonstrated capacity to implement the principles and processes related to behaviour support, trauma informed care and person centred thinking
  • Relevant experience in service delivery and management together with developing a range of clinical support plans/protocols
  • Personal drive and initiative and demonstrated capacity in finding creative solutions to complex issues 
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery and training and support to individuals, families and groups
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport and positive relationships with individuals, families, groups and teams
  • Demonstrated capacity in the use of MS Office based programs as well as web based IT platforms

The successful applicant must also possess a current NSW Working with Children Check, undertake and be cleared with a Criminal Record Check and hold a current/valid NSW Drivers Licence. A vehicle, laptop and phone will be supplied as tools of trade.

Travel and some out of hours work will be a feature of this role.

This is a Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Service Industry Award Level 6 role ($37.09 - $38.70 per hour).  In addition, as Samaritans is a non-profit organisation, employees have the opportunity to participate in our Salary Packaging Scheme which means that employees can earn up to $16,000 of their annual earnings as tax free income thus increasing their net annual earnings.
