The Samaritans Foundation is the social welfare agency of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle and plays a key-role in ensuring the Anglican Church responds to Gospel imperatives of unconditional support to people in need within our region.

The agency is seeking a skilled, self-motivated ‘people person’ to fill the position of Chaplain, which is currently vacant.

The priest/deacon selected for this position will have the capacity to:

• be a listening ear for staff members at all levels of the agency;
• affirm and strengthen our links with Anglican parishes, volunteers and parish care groups;
• assist in the planning of Samaritans celebrations and special events.

This is a five-year contract position with regular reviews in an agency constantly adapting to changing community needs/challenges, but committed to maintaining its Christian value base.

The Chaplain will report directly to the CEO of Samaritans.
