Rheem Australia is the market leader in the design and manufacture of a full range of water heating products that utilise gas, electric and solar technologies. This leadership has made us the country’s largest high volume appliance manufacturer with 8 large factories in Australia, NZ and China. Over 700 people are engaged directly in the Australian sites. To meet the transformation in the market place towards renewable energy products, we have big investment plans.
Due to these business needs, this new role will lead the future directions for the engineering effort in the Company’s multiple manufacturing facilities. You will set the standards for engineering excellence through dotted line reporting to the respective factory Engineering Managers and their staff, and oversee all future site engineering plans. Mentoring engineers to cross pollinate, strengthen and develop their skills and our technical capability is a key accountability.
An engineering qualification plus min 10 years at a senior technical/engineering management level in a volume manufacturing environment, ie designing for flow, is essential. Exposure to our technologies of fabrication/welding, press tooling, enamelling and assembly is also important. Familiarity with lean manufacturing strategies and initiatives, along with a proven record for project management and contract management are critical skills. A track record of commitment to safety, team leadership and people development needs to be shown.
