About the role and team
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Insurance lawyer to join our high performing Statutory Insurance team, managing matters on behalf of WorkSafe and TAC. We're seeking candidates who have at least 3 years experience in managing WorkCover and TAC matters. Candidates with experience working on Public Liability and Wrongs Act matters will be well regarded.
This role will be part of our well-regarded team in Melbourne which has approximately 40 team members. The role will have the opportunity work closely with partners and will have access to junior level support.
We act for a large number of employers in the defence of workers compensation claims and this role will be responsible for managing and advising on matters relating to workers compensation for our self-insurer clients.
Our national Insurance team advise on and manage litigated claims for a number of major insurers, underwriters and self-insured corporations. These include claims ranging from highly complex and technically challenging, through to simpler, volume-driven claims. These matters include Public & Product liability, FOS applications, Workers’ Compensation law, Personal injury claims and non-personal injury claims. We also have extensive experience advising on fraudulent insurance claims.
Skills and experience
3+ years post admission experience
Experience advising on Insurance matters across either defendant or plaintiff
