Merchandise Manager

Elders Merchandise is one of the major specialist retailers to rural Australia, delivering agricultural chemicals, fertiliser, seed, animal health products and agronomic advice for farmers. 

We deliver products, service and expertise to many farming industries such as broadacre cropping, livestock, dairy, cotton, sugar and horticulture including potatoes, carrots, viticulture, mangoes and bananas.

An excellent opportunity exists in our Cooma branch for a Merchandise Manager, responsible for achieving market share, profit and customer service objectives of the merchandise team, by leading a team and managing all merchandise operations.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the main duties include:

·          Develop, implement and manager merchandise business plans and budgets.

·          Lead a team of merchandise sales staff and monitor the performance of the team against business objectives.

·          Manage the ordering, storage and administrative control of inventory.

·          Implement and control a key account management program.

·          Ensure that employees work safely and ethically.

·          Minimum of five years sales experience, and proven sales achievements, in a rural merchandise business.

·          Knowledge of the products, clients, competitors and overall markets in the region.

·          Competent PC skills, especially the Microsoft Office suite and sound administrative and organisational skills.

·          Agsafe accreditation.

·          Current drivers license.

·          Degree / diploma in an agricultural or related business discipline is desirable.
