A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join the Resort Activities Team as Activities Coordinator at Lizard Island Resort based on the Great Barrier Reef.

The resort is a 5* luxury resort located 60 minutes by light aircraft north of Cairns and is a tropical island with crystal clear waters and idyllic dive locations, situated right on the Great Barrier Reef.

About the role:


The Activities Coordinator assists the Resort Activities Manager and team with the property’s activities function incorporating logistics of guest transfers and booking of activities through internal reservations and external travel agents along with assisting organisation localised marketing initiatives.


The role involves high levels of guest liaison and requires excellent communication with all resort Departments, whilst maintaining a high standard of guest services and customer relations in line with Delaware North standards.


You will bring to the role:

The successful applicant will be a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent organisational, communication and time management skills. 

  • Previous experience and demonstrated skills in managing the administrative and operational demands of a busy activities department or similar function will be viewed favourably
  • An organised yet flexible and proactive approach
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business/Tourism/Hospitality Management or equivalent
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in written and verbal communications
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a professional and efficient manner
  • Knowledge/qualifications in the Dive and Marine industries along with their associated regulations (preferable)
  • Full open drivers license (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of Property Management System – Opera (mandatory)
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (mandatory)
  • Occupational Health and Safety (highly regarded)


This is a "live-on" remote location role.  Working in a remote location is not for everyone, so you must think carefully about the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time.
