Lizard Island Resort is located on the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef, just over an hour’s flight north of Cairns, QLD. We are offering a rare opportunity for experienced and qualified Dive Supervisor to join our friendly Activities team.
The Dive Supervisor will be responsible for leading the diving services for all resort guests in line with guest expectations whilst complying at all times with safety and security standards.
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all resort dive, snorkel and compressor equipment at all times seeking to minimise business risk and financial cost
Design, implement and manage processes to ensure the regulatory compliance of all Dive and compressor equipment, and activities at the resort and compliance with all relevant Delaware North policies and procedures
Identify and plan and executive dives that meet compliance requirements, diver competence levels and enhance guest experience
Day to day supervision of all Dive Instructors ensuring performance standards are achieved and behaviour is in line with Delaware North expectations and relevant Code of Conduct
Ensure reports on all accidents/incidents involving vessels, passengers, are provided in a timely manner in-line with Delaware North Policies and Procedures and Governmental Workplace Health and safety requirements, and necessary follow-up actions are taken
Implement plans/strategies to improve speed of service and operational efficiencies
Manage emergencies in conjunction with the Activities Manager/ Assistant in accordance with Delaware North Policies and Procedures ensuring all employees are trained in their duties/responsibilities in emergency situations on land and on board vessels. Ensure a policy of accident prevention is maintained at all times
Manage the development and implementation of new activities and ideas to enhance the guest experience on the island.
Manage dive equipment security, conduct security audits and implement theft prevention strategies in line with Delaware North policies and procedures as required
Ensure tools and equipment required to conduct tours or activity based tasks are consistent with the departments needs and are compliant with regulations
Assists with and collaborate on special projects which are highly complex, and involve creation and oversight of multifaceted teams
Maintain a safe work environment by assisting with implementation of OH&S policies and procedures
Other duties as directed by the Activities Manager.
