The Finance & Corporate Services Department is responsible for delivering services to Delaware North Companies Sydney Cricket Ground & Allianz Stadiums in three key areas. Firstly, the Department provides a wide range of accounting, budgetary and financial services, secondly the generation of associated management reports and thirdly the provision of financial advice to management and staff.

What are we looking for?

Based at Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium we are seeking a full time Accounts Assistant for Maternity Leave Cover from July 2017 to March 2018, the role will involve weekend game day.

A great opportunity to gain Finance experience is a challenging and rewarding Stadium environment.  The position will include accounts payable, pre and post event data analysis and reconciliations, and cashroom duties.

 

In addition the following accountabilities are vital to the success of this position;

  • Maintenance of records as well as compliance with accounting policies and standards
  • Calculate and provide weekly accruals to Management Accountant
  • Approve and issue inventory and non-inventory purchase orders as requested
  • Reconcile creditor statements
  • Code and authorise invoices prior to processing
  • Liaise with creditors to resolve “day to day” issues

 

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The position requires:

  • Demonstrated experience in cash handling/reconciling and banking to balance a variety of accounts
  • Knowledge of SCM, EBMS, Peoplesoft, BPoint,
  • Proven numeracy skills with attention to detail
  • Basic Accounting skills
  • To be able to work independently and be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Sound time management skills and effective communication skills.
