Lizard Island Resort currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional Front Office Manager to join our team at the award winning Lizard Island Resort, located on the Great Barrier Reef a scenic 1 hour flight North of Cairns, Queensland.
Reporting directly to the Resort General Manager you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the Front Office function:
Coordinate guest arrivals & departures ensuring the guest experience is perfect from the first to the very last moment of their visit
Lead, train and motivate a small team of Guest Services Agents and Porters to ensure effective team relations and guest service
Ensure accuracy of reservations, specials and guest profiles at all times
Work collaboratively with other resort departments to deliver continuity and consistency of guest service, assist in creating memorable guest experiences and offer the very highest levels of service
Manage and maintain relevant administrative and operational systems /processes for all front office tasks including arrivals/departures, flight bookings, guest accounts, daily reconciliations, banking and rooms management
Work closely and maintain effective relations with the reservations team, relevant travel agents, airlines and taxi companies
Effectively roster all Guest Service Agents and Porters in line with award provisions at all times, minimising cost whilst maintaining high levels of service
You will be a passionate and active team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with our guests, ensuring their every expectation is exceeded and that they have a truly fantastic stay. You will be a natural leader with a team focus, used to motivating your team and dealing with the challenges of running a busy department. You will also be a strong team player who fosters and encourages inter-departmental relations to ensure that the resort works as a united team. Your management skills will be exceptional and you will be used to working within budget and payroll constraints, along with other management responsibilities including Training and development, to ensure that your team meets our very high 5 star standards. You will be creative and always on the lookout for improvements to our services, offerings and services.
Demonstrated experience in managing a busy operational front office/ reception environment ideally in 5* luxury resort/hotel
Meticulous grooming and presentation standards

Previous experience with OPERA (Essential)
