Our top-ranked finance lawyers have a track record of executing transactions with innovation and vigour, and advising clients at the forefront of their markets. The Global Loans practice advises on a range of banking matters including Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Infrastructure Acquisition Finance, Corporate Lending, Fund Finance and the like. In addition, our practice extends to bilateral and syndicated loans, guarantee and security issues, and regulatory matters, including the establishment of banks and the carrying out of lending and investment banking activities within Europe, the Middle East, APAC and the US. Our clients include leading investment and commercial banks as well as substantial corporate borrowers, issuers and sponsors.

Role Overview:

Ashurst combines the benefits of a leading finance practice with a supportive and collegiate environment. The firm is looking for a paralegal to join our Global Loans practice in Singapore. The job holder will work closely with partners and associates to provide documentation and know-how support and facilitate the delivery of top quality and efficient services to our multi-jurisdictional clients.

Main responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing and translating transaction documents, including conditions precedent and closing bibles.
  • Managing simple flow work such as repeat deals, changing of names, verification exercises, signing and completion processes.
  • Producing and distributing transaction bibles and documents, and collating know-how information upon completion of transactions.
  • Maintaining records and know-how resources such as matter index, due diligence questionnaires, templates/ precedents for transactions.
  • Conducting basic legal and commercial research and analyses.
  • Assist with ACRA registrations and IRAS stamping.

Essential skills and experience:

  • At least 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience as a paralegal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to switch between detail and the bigger picture.
  • Positive attitude toward work and a desire to learn and develop.
  • A team player - flexible in their approach to work and willingness to go the extra mile, and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines.
  • High level of confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy.
