Southern Cross Austereo, one of Australia’s most progressive and exciting entertainment based media companies, is looking for a self driven, enthusiastic and experienced Radio Journalist/News Presenter to join the News team at the Townsville Media Centre.
You will be responsible for identifying, creating and delivering compelling news to a targeted audience. This is a sensational opportunity for a confident and motivated journalist who is excited about providing our listeners with the most relevant, up to date news.
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
Very confident, strong presentation style
Ability to produce accurate, punchy and creative news bulletins, targeted to a specific demographic
Excellent knowledge of local and network news
Thorough knowledge of news operations (Local and Network)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
An ability to multitask and prioritise
Committed to working within a highly supportive team environment
A thorough understanding of deadlines is essential
A thorough understanding of ACMA compliance rules for regional news
This position would suit an experienced journalist who can show good aptitude in workflow and time management and act as a mentor to other journalists in the team. An understanding of the RCS news system would be an advantage but not essential.
