Southern Cross Austereo – one of Australia’s most progressive and exciting entertainment based media companies – is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Support Engineer to join its Technology team in Sydney on a 6 month contract.

Whilst this is primarily an IT focused role, you will also develop skills in audio and broadcasting. You will also have the opportunity to learn and become skilled in digital radio technology, the most exciting advancement for Australian radio in recent history. This is a fantastic opportunity for a positive minded candidate with a “can do” attitude, who has a strong interest and thirst for technology, and wants to further his/her career in the media industry with some great brands.

Working as part of a team of IT and Broadcast Engineers, your key focus will be to provide efficient customer service and technology solutions to internal customers. You will also work on the installation and maintenance of on air infrastructure, security systems and broadcast facilities including transmission, production, outside broadcasts and on air studios.

You will need to have a strong customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills to allow you to build relationships with key stakeholders within the business. You will also require good fault finding skills to enable you to find technology based business solutions and ensure project deadlines are met.

Your experience in a similar role, combined with Microsoft qualifications will ensure your success in this position. Experience as a Support Engineer in commercial radio or TV will be beneficial, but you may also have worked in a production house or similar environment. A qualification in IT, electronics or telecommunications (or current study in one of these fields) will also be beneficial to your success.
