The Opportunity:

We are currently open to expressions of interest for an opportunity for a casual paralegal to join our dispute resolution team in Canberra. Ashurst has a proven track record in supporting and developing paralegals and this vacancy represents an outstanding opportunity for a team-player with strong organisational and communication skills.

You will be working in a tight knit team and your tasks will include:

  • Drafting documents, court documents and advices.
  • Legal research.
  • Assisting with the preparation of briefs to counsel.
  • Preparing file notes and case summaries.
  • Reviewing and summarising evidence.


About You:

  • Student studying a law degree (either undergraduate or juris doctor).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A commercial approach and an ability to articulate and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills.
  • Team-focused and the ability to work independently, taking a proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service.
  • You must also have Australian citizenship or permanent residency and be able to obtain a baseline security clearance.
